Anyone with non-cat/dog pets? Post pics!
This is Cherry, whom I rescued from the track. She is a 4 year old thoroughbred and has the sweetest nature of any creature on this planet. Anyone with non-cat/dog pets?

(disclaimer: I LOVE cats and dogs; I have several of each. Just thought other pets sometimes don't get the same publicity here!)

1. We have a few besides our two dogs.
We also have a rabbit, two snakes, two gerbils and a tankful of fish. No pictures though.

3. My sister has a Turtle
Edited on Sun Feb-08-04 08:58 PM by Lizz612
A red eared slider called Mr. T. Honestly we had no idea that Mr. T was that guy with all the gold jewelry. She named him Twinklestar and then we realized he was a boy and needed a more masculine name; Mr. Twinklestar!
This isn't him but close enough

11. Aren't sugar gliders kinda bad-tempered?
The only time I've seen one was in the pet store. They had one in a nice big cage that was ready to rumble with anyone who passed by.

12. Nope!

But if treated poorly (like any other animal) they can be quick to fight the humans! If they have been treated well by humans and trust them - they are the sweetest little things ever!

I don't spend as much time with mine as I'd like - since they are waking up when I am going to bed...but even without getting handled much at all they are sweet - just more wary and skittish.

If you spend a lot of time with them they become VERY attached... and can/will die of loneliness if dumped/abandoned.

Worst thing about the suggies? They are STANKY!

21. I had a ferret and a rat once
Ravi Stinkar and Elsa, respectivly. WONDERFUL pets! I had Ravi in high school and college. He was so popular in college that he officially became a fraternaty brother in Alpha Phi Alpha!. Elsa I had during childhood. She was so bright and easy to train-didn't smell much either. I highly recommend getting a child a pet rat over a gerbil or hamster; they may lack a bit on the "cuteness" scale, but they are much more durable and companionable.

Those sugar gliders are just lovely! If I didn't have two expert hunters in the house, I would have a pair of them! :-)

13. thanks! I'm very lucky
that my parents live out in the boonies and I have somewhere to keep her. I don't wish for great riches in this life, just enough to be able to support having horses.

It's a fat lazy ferret! :D

This is Festus, and he, like all ferrets (and as another DU ferret owner once pointed out) has 2 speeds:

1.Overdosed on amphetamines,

and

2. Coma

:D

digital camera. I have two sweet ferrets named Tetsuo and Akira. They are both males; Tetsuo is a sable and Akira is white.
