11. None of them.
SNL has gone down the toilet. The skits are terrible and the actors are are even worse.

12. Don Pardo
Last night in introductions, he said, "Chris Kattan-- Parnell!" Much the funniest thing on the show in eons.

26. I caught that, too
I thought it was a clever way of saying Kattan was going to be on the show.

Oops!

But I also thought that they would have an episode of Wake Up Wakefield allow Ms. Rudolph the chance to prostrate herself at the feet of Clay Aiken.

23. What about Rachel Dratch?
She usually gets relegated to play the frumpy-chick and old lady parts, but the scuttlebutt is that she's the best improviser in the group, and the best in many years.

She's also the Dratch in the critically-acclaimed two-woman comic act called "Fay and Dratch". Checkest thou it out!

Jeeze ... all a girl has to be is shorter than 5'4" and have dark hair, and she doesn't exist anymore!

24. Gilda Radner Was The Best
Today's SNL cannot compare with the original cast. They were funny, inventive and they created a whole new genre on television. Gilda's characters were all outrageously funny. I really miss her.

Edited on Sun Feb-08-04 10:30 PM by BareKnuckledLiberal
There are not one, but TWO African-American players in this year's cast of Saturday Night Live.

Can you name them?

Even one of them?

Here's a Snoop-Dog-izzle hint: One is Fizzle Mizzle and the other is Kizzle Tizzle.

Kenan Thompson (Who does a great Cosby impression)
and
Finnese Mitchell (Who hasn't really done much to date)

and I didn't even have to cheat!

They ruled, IMO. Next to them, the original cast, especially Radner and Belushi, were the best. The current crop are pretty dull, IMO.

38. I agree.
The cast of Carvey, Dunn, Hartman, Hooks, Jackson, Lovitz, Myers, Nealon, and (god help us) Miller was every bit as funny as the original "Not Ready For Prime Time Players". Writing by Conan O'Brian had something to do with it, I think.

I watch it sometimes, it needs to be put out of its misery already. The old cast was super, but especially Belushi. I understood that man like a brother.

36. I was gonna post on how much SNL has improved
Saturday's show was hilarious. They've finally come out of the post-911 "kiss Bush's ass" phase and are kicking some ass. They tore him a new one on weekend update. I haven't laughed so hard in quite some time...
