How can I consolidate bank loans? |
|
I took out a number of college loans to pay my way through. They are not Federal loans, but instead bank loans--unfortunately, they're all at around 6.5% or so.
Is there any way that they can be consolidated into a single personal loan? How do I get this done? I don't have a house that can be mortgaged, but I make decent money, and have a good credit record.
I'm really ignorant about this: any help appreciated!

1. get a zero interest or ARM |
|
on a house and use the appreciation to pay it off in a few years.

2. try Sallie Mae or other lender |
|
and see if they will give you a consolidation loan.
I remember getting offers from there for this when I was paying off my loan with them.
Do you have parents that will do a loan against their equity in their house? That would be a low rate.
good luck, I hated paying those off.. but did :-)
