CONFESS!!!!! Your Most Memorable song..... |
|
.....Memorable meaning it brings back some really special memories that you will fondly recall for the rest of your lifetime.
Example: for me it would have to be Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. I'm working out on my elliptical to VH1 Classics and the Page/Plant Kashmir video (From their No Quarter CD) comes on. (BTW, what a workout).
Anyhow, that song will always remind me of my 16th birthday (which someone requested that song for me on the local rock station). I was in county band and I was going to spend the day with my boyfriend (who was from another school in the county and also in county band). We would spend the day sneaking off to a closet in the band room making out.
But it was my birthday and I suck at relationships. I ended up making out with at least 3 other boys. Needless to say that my relationship didn't last very long with my boyfriend.
But it was a fun day. I was a kissing slut - go figure.
To me Kashmir will always have great memories of that day many many years ago!!

3. I'd like to came authorship of Kashmir.... |
|
....but I don't think Robert Plant and Jimmy Page would appreciate it.
Just the song that gives you the best memories...

and "I Know You're Out There Somewhere" by the Moody Blues because both songs helped me find my spiritual path and my soul mate.

"You left me just when I needed you most." I was in love with Terri Wells in 8th grade, a summer romance that ended with us making out one last time while this song and "2 outta 3 ain't bad" by Meatloaf played over and over. Still makes me hot to think about her and those songs.
Also, the Steve Miller Band album "Abracadabra" was playing over and over during one of the best and longest night of sex I had in high school. I just couldn't pull myself away from her to change the record, which was hers.
I am SO the guy from High Fidelity. It'd be sad if I weren't so drunk.

Let me explain. When I was learning math I used that song to do my figuring. Putting most lessons to music made them easier to remember, I suppose. Hey, I was 2 years old, and it worked. :)

9. "Listen To Your Heart" by Roxette. This used to play endlessly on |
|
the video juke at the EM Club at Fort Knox where I went to the Tank Training school. It was popular because Ann-Marie Whatserface from Roxette performed the song barefoot and wearing a sexy little black dress. The guys loved it. It's a good memory for me because I fulfilled my goal of becoming a bad-ass tank crewman, and I was assigned shortly thereafter to a post in Germany. I'd been wanting to go to Germany for probably ten years at that point. Anyway, the song brings back great memories.

10. Anything off "Mystery to Me" by Fleetwood Mac, especially "Hypnotized" |
|
I had a major crush on this guy when I was in high school; he was older and had his own place and whenever I was there we usually listened to this album - takes me right back to being about 15-16 again...

Which I am sure won't surprise you. I love most anything by Stevie Nicks, especially "Rhiannon" which reminds me of a happier time in my life and was also the name of the best cat I will ever know. I also like "Sara," which is the name of my dog who I just adopted last October.:-)

(or any early Beatles song really)
Summer 1988- Erik. The one who broke my heart and last I knew still lives with his parents (one of those "maybe it was for the best" things in retrospect). Nice memories though. :loveya:

18. "My Aim Is True" by Elvis Costello... |
|
Evokes a sweet, sweet summer spent making art and being head-over-heels in love in that way that only happens once or twice.
Heavy sigh. Now, back to reality.
