Anybody watch "The forbidden topic" and the City last night? |
|
I got hooked on this show a while back. Although it's sometimes trite and often trashy, it's almost always funny. Splat! was an appropriate title for last night's episode.
Only two more to go. I am still laying odds that Big returns.

If he doesn't I will be so upset. The whole Carrie moving to Paris won't work because the "Fifth lady in the show is NYC"
Did you catch Curb your Enthusiam after it? I was ROTFLMAO

Big makes an appearance somehow in the final two epsiodes because Noth was on location in Paris shooting. :)
I think they have set up a really interesting quandary for Carrie -- she has ALWAYS been about NY and ALWAYS been about those gals being her family, and now she hooks up with a guy who is asking her to leave those things behind, for good. And he didn't like her friends, to boot. BAD sign.
I was a little surprised at how Carrie was repsonding to being the last single gal -- it makes her move seem to have a lot to do with panic as 40 hits.
My take is this: Carrie is going to Paris, The Russian's friends are going to be snotty art folks who won't give Carrie the time of day, and she's going to realize the trade-off is not worth it.
And Big shows up to take her home to NY.
The End.

3. The real Carrie , Candace Bushnell |
|
met, fell for and quickly married a danseur (guy ballet dancer) last year. To me, the Barshnikov and Paris thing ain't odd.

4. Yes, but in the book Carrie ends up with Big |
|
I mean, the signs are all out there for her to end up with Big.
First and foremost, this week's episode practically frightened Carrie into choosing to go to Paris. She had 40 year old Lexie (who Carrie use to be like) falling out of the window and 50 year old Enid complaining that there are no men out there for her age (and showing up at Lexie's funeral with the 60 year old that Carrie fixed her up with)
Plus last week it was clear that his friends find her trivial and this week showed us that her friends find him arrogant.
She's going to go to Paris and find herself miserable. No friends, No job, no NY and the Russian will be too busy to pay any attention to her while she's in Paris. I think our gal will have a serious case of "buyers remorse"
On a side note, isn't it interesting that Charlotte's dog had 3 puppies. I'll bet anything the dog had 2 girls and a boy and she'll name the puppies Carrie, Miranda and Sam (since Sam's name can translate to the boy puppie).
