I'll be happy to kick all the mites and mold out of my house!!! |
|
But what am I suppose to do with the 2 furballs that I love??!!
Just got back from the Allergist - nothing unusual for allergies - I now know I'm allergic to mites, mold and cats

1. You should go see your chiropractor. They are apparently |
|
able to cure allergies. I called BS on it, but some people think they can cure them. http://www.ctchiropractic.com/click on: BioSET Allergy Elimination

I use the petwipes to keep dander down and vaccuum like a mad woman on an almost daily basis.
Good luck :hi:

3. But you're allergic to cat dander, right? Not cats themselves? |
|
Does your allergist say whether you can build immunity to cat dander? Fifteen years ago, I was _horribly_ "allergic to cats," and an allergist explained to me that I wasn't really allergic to cats. I was allergic to their dander. I let someone else (my ex-husband and his boys) brush the cat each evening, and my problem disappeared. I considered allergy shots, but I skeeve needles, so I eventually got used to the arrangement without a ton of discomfort.
Today, I'm the proud human companion of The Wiley and Excellent Boy Cat Named Ginger, who's a clean-o-holic and apparently not too dandery. I notice that my eyes get more dry/alternately runny and my nose gets more stuffy in winter, when the air is more dry and danger is more apparent and he's more often grooming his thick coat. Generally, though, he grooms himself to a mutally satisfactory state that doesn't kill me too badly.

4. My daughter has the same allergies - we have three cats |
|
one of which sleeps with her, on her pillow right next to her head.
She's also allergic to dogs and Brazil nuts.
I'm going to get her a HEPA air purifier for her bedroom, and perhaps upgrade our vacuum to one that also has a HEPA filter.
I may also try Allerpet for the cat.
Good luck!

10. I've been alergic to cats since I was 18. |
|
I've had cats since I was 13. The cats came first, and damn it, they take priority. :)
You'll build up a tolerance to your own cats, but react to other people's cats.
