Tell me what you think of my latest project.(lots if pics)
Near the end of last year I bought a "Gunsmith Special" Albanian SKS. (It was $90 delivered to my front door) When it arrived it was coated in grease. After removing the grease I found a rifle that was in good condition ecxept for a badly cracked stock.
Here are some pictures of what it looked like.

I cleaned the stock and glued the crack. This is what it looked like after I repaired it:

Recently I ordered a new stock set. I carefully fitted the stock to the rifle and the refinished the stock.

Not bad considering I have spent less then $110 on this project.

Comments??

2. Beautiful gun, good job!
But that puppy is LOUD when shot. I was given one similar to that (with a foldout bayonet) Wear earplugs and don't let anyone stand next to you when you shoot it! My ears rang for two hours.

7. Gorgeous work! The wood is beautiful and it looks
like you spent way more than you did - but I can imagine the time it took! A friend is a gunsmith who does custom as well as repair/restore work, and I think you've done as good a job as he could have!

8. Any clue as to the date of production?
The grease coat pics makes it look like it was manufactured in the mid-60s.
