Get your very own WMD Specs!

I'm no MoPaul, but if you like it and want to spread it around (not-for-profit only), feel free -- just PLEASE copy it to your own server, and don't hot-link it from mine (I can't afford the bandwidth).

1. Oh this is brilliant.
I remember the old x-ray specs adds in the comics when I was kid. Very well done. :)

4. Thank you, my dear...
Actually, I didn't think you'd get it at all -- because I thought the ol' X-Ray Specs ad might be a relic exclusive to North America. Not that little Aussie kids wouldn't appreciate them -- I mean, those Honor House ads were just so wonderfully cheesy!

Did you get inundated with Sea Monkey ads, too??

6. Ohhhhhhh!
I love sea monkey's. Begged my mum for years to buy me some, and finally one year we went to the royal Melbourne show, and I got a show bag with some in it. I loved them. :)

10. Magic Rocks were the best!
We (my bro & sis & I) had some for the loooongest time- until we moved and one of us dropped them (don't remember who).
Ahhhh, you gotta love wandering in the mists of time...

it has all that great stuff, so I make sure to leave my wallet at home when we go there.
Otherwise I'd be poor(er). (can you have less than zero $$?)

...there are stores I just can't go to with cash or bank cards on me. LOL

And no, you can't have less than zero, and I know how you feel. I open my wallet and the moths just fly out. I don't open it much, cuz my money usually goes on bills as soon as I receive it.

16. Yes- I try to work on the barter system
that way I don't have to worry about spending the cash between a job and my mouth/rent/bills.

Less hassle, less fuss! :)

9. Thanks, JK!
He's not "my guy," tho' -- that's the original art from an ad seen in practically every comic book during the 1960s & 70s, from Archie to Superman.

I guess they haven't printed it in a loooooong time! (And I don't know whatever happened to the original novelty-products purveyor, Honor House.)

But, ewww, yeah, you're right -- he does look a tad like Rummy -- minus the expression of terminal constipation!

17. Oh wow what a memory rush
after I laughed at the ad and read the posts, I remembered that I really wanted X-Ray glasses, or a tiny dog that would fit into a teacup. But I never got them.

I did have sea monkeys, but not until a couple of years ago and I had to buy them for myself. They were so neat, little did I know they were brine shrimp. Anyway, they lived for almost a year until they got knocked over by one of my cats.
:(

Now I want magic rocks.

22. I sent away for X-Ray Specs...
And they kinda, sorta suggested something kinda like an x-ray. LOL They work sort of the same way 3D glasses do -- separate the vision in each eye (heck, I'm no optics expert), creating this foggy sort of silhouette around the object you're looking at.

I never did see through anybody's clothes... blast it!

Did the Sea Monkeys follow your flashlight beam?

30. OMG!
I really need sleep, or I need to get my mind out of the gutter. LOL

I meant six months. Honest!

Shrinky Dinks are like this plastic stuff, that you colour in, cut them out, and put 'em in the oven, and they shrink up into a ornament type thing. Pretty fun to watch.
