Plastic Packaging -- An Invention of the devil |
|
I've bought several electronic gizmos recently and they all havfe something in common.
Vacuum-packes plastic packaging that is impossible to open.
Couldn't rip them open, they almost broke my scissors tryong to cut them open.
Who's the genius who invented this? Could it be.......Satan?

1. Actually, this ties into the other thread- |
|
I've cut myself with that stupid plastic more than once!
I vote we abolish it, and instead package gizmos in rice paper.

2. The solution to a problem is always another problem |
|
They create plastic wrap to cut down on cardboard use and instead create a product wrap with the half life of plutonium and the salient characteristics of a jailhouse weapon.

3. I am so glad someone brought this up. Plastics should be banned. |
|
They are a nightmare on the environment, they are HELL to open, and there is nothing redeeming about them, except the plastics company is making a killing, in more ways than one of course. God, is everything about the all-mighty dollar to these guys. Do they not have the capacity to see the damage that comes from products like these?
Now with Bush sending all our businesses overseas, we should make a point to get plastic companies to chayunge thayer eeeevil wayuz.......

4. I don't understand why they don't make them reclosable |
|
You have to practically destroy the product itself to get them open. And sometimes they have these round nibs that look like they will snap open or closed but these nibs are just a tease. Yes, they were invented by the Satan cuz they make you swear.

The best was wrestling some scissors out of some damn plastic packing. Nearly stabbed myself with my knife. And the adhesive on some CDs take forever to get off, etc., etc. Or you get a dinky thingie 1 in square and throw away 8 cu. inches of packing. Arrrrrgh!

6. I think the idea is that you break the gizmo trying to open the packing. |
|
Or at least fling the gizmo across the room whilst smashing your hand into a nearby piece of furniture (the corner of a desk is especially "good" for this). You're right, it's Satan, no two ways about it.

7. I always thought that plastic was meant to deter people from... |
|
...quickly opening packages in stores and bagging the items.

I read that somewhere.
But it seems a bit like overkill. Seems like it also deters people who buy products from opening the packaging once they get them home too.
