Elusive Cinema: Films you've long wanted to see, but can't find anywhere
..short of purchasing a copy, 'sight unseen.'

I've always wanted to see "Stairway to Heaven" and "Black Narcissus" (both British Powell & Pressburger films from the 1940s). Can't find them anywhere.

What are yours?

1. The subtitled La Cage Aux Folles.
Not the dubbed, the subtitled. Hilarious movie.

2. The Devil's Ball
A kind soul here in the Lounge once pointed me to a YouTube clip of this fantastic little film, but it's long since been removed.

7. Black Narcissus is in print through the Criterion Collection
...who are working on re-presenting the entire Powell catalog.

8. I have Black Narcissus
You can get it on DVD. Stairway to Heaven is a different story. I also can't find A Small Back Room. I hope Criterion releases both at some point. I think they are available in the UK but that's obviously of no use to me since my DVD player won't read the DVDs.
