Today marks another milestone in my life....
This one, one of the most important that I can think of. I'm voting today!! For the first time for anything! I'm so excited *insert dorkiness*.

I definitely think it's something that younger people should be focusing on more. I mean, voting affects everyone, but especially those of us just now being legal.

I remember the excitement the first time I got to vote!

It was for something not very interesting, a judge or two and a sherriff and the city council, but it was cooooooool.

It's great that you're participating in the process. I still remember how excited I was to vote in the 1988 Democratic primary. I was still just 17 but I got to vote anyway because I'd be 18 by the general election. I got out of school and drove my parents down to the senior citizens center and we voted. I remember being a little disappointed because pretty much everyone but Dukakis had dropped out by the time the Texas primary rolled around. I remember agonizing over whether to vote for Al Gore or Jesse Jackson just to send a message. :-) It was one of the better days of my life.
