George Foreman Is Training To Fight Again
:eyes:

um talk about your 15 minutes being up

<snip>

FORMER heavyweight world champion George Foreman, whose last fight was seven years ago, is in training for a one-fight comeback.

Foreman told Houston television station KRIV on Monday that he began training on January 10, his 55th birthday.

"I've been training and working out to get down to 225 pounds (101 kilograms)," he said.

"If I do, I'm going to have one more boxing match."

He said he has already lost 11.25 kilograms.

1. Yeah he's way over the hill and all but
he can still kill ya with one punch. Probably the strongest heavyweight I ever saw fight. Don't hurt yourself George.

2. George is a nice guy
Before he moved to Kingwood he used to live down the street from me. I'd see him every morning when I'd go out to get the paper and we'd exchange hello's. He'd be out jogging.

3. Great, another chance for a bad beat
I live in Las Vegas and wagered "under 50 knockouts" for George Foreman's career. I was a living cinch, after Big George "retired" in '77 with only 42 knockouts.

Somehow I knew it had to be the biggest fix of all time, when the sportsbook manager chuckled in my face and refused to pay up for more than a decade. Sure enough, you know the rest...

BTW, that tale is remarkably false. But I've tongue-in-cheek told it to so many wide-eyed and gullible "you can bet on anything here, honey!" tourists that I'm sure it's legend on front porches everywhere.

4. They said George was over the hill at 40!
and he became heavyweight champion, albeit one belt of (what?) 3.

5. Who's he going to fight? A couple of nuns? Go grill a few George.
