Seed catalogs - can anyone recommend a good one?

I'd like to plant a relatively extensive garden, hopefully this year, and am interested in finding/planting some heirloom seeds. Obviously, no GM seeds, so a more natural, organic seed catalog is what I'm looking for, I guess. I don't really trust the seeds at the local Lowes... I'm a novice at vegetable gardening, but would welcome any pointers!

Thanks! :hi:

Has a wide organic section. Stopped mailing their print catalog out of concern for the environment.

I used to use them a long time ago. Dunno if they are "blue" or not though.

Also, you can find seeds cheaply at Lowe's and other places that sell spring bulbs and seeds. I once bought a pack of "Ripley's Believe It Or Not? Sunflower Seeds" for 10 cents at Lowe's that turned out to be the biggest (tallest) and best tasting sunflower ever. Well, I mean the seeds that grew in the "head." I eat sunflower brains, lol. :P

11. You are superficial
Your catalog only focuses on the male appearance.

My idea is about what comes from the inside.

15. Good seeds for less money from Pinetree Seeds catalog.
It's a seed company in Maine that sells you half the seeds of a regular packet for half the price. For instance, if you want to plant tomatoes or daisies, they'll sell you a packet of 100 seeds for $1.50 instead of a packet of 250 seeds for $3.25. (I'm approximating, of course.) I always use their seed; it's great. After all, who needs 250 tomato seeds? I save quite a bit of money.

16. A caution about Pinetree: not much info on how to grow .
I order from Pinetree too. They are cheap and the seeds germinate as well as the more expensive packets but for a novice gardener, it may be better to look at one of the companies with copious info in the catalogs and on the packets. Johnny's Selected Seeds, for one www.johnnyseeds.com and Territorial Seed www.territorial-seed.com for another. Both have lots of organic seed varieties and heirloom or open pollinated seeds.
