I Think DU Should Have a Sex Forum

I saw on a post in GD and the OP brings up a great question. Why do we have a Gun forum but no Sex forum? I mean, are liberals not allowed to discuss the subject? There have been times where I wish there was a forum to ask some embarrassing/helpful questions that are serious.Can anyone tell me why there isn't a sex forum? I'd really like to know.Thanks!

Right now, DU attracts (in addition to repuke trolls trying to disrupt things) people who want serious substantive debate on liberal issues. We also want a comfortable place to hang out. If it becomes a porn destination, we'll get all kinds of cranks, fuckwads, zipheads, rednecks, cadiddlehoppers, cadodies, hillbillies, crazies, pervs and shit-for-brains screwing (pardon the expression) everything up here. This is my safe haven. If you want cyber sex here, confine it to the PMs.

Innocent flirting is great, I enjoy it myself. But outsiders looking for the hard stuff will go away after a while and leave us alone.

But not so much a sex forum as sexuality, for mature adult discussion — not about pR0n or "boobies," but about real issues.

It'd be nearly impossible to moderate, though, and it'd need some sort of electronic provision to ensure only those 18 and older could gain access.

Plus, it'd likely give the admins a rep they don't need.

It's too hard to figure out what's potentially pornographic in some dorkwater town or another and what's informational, so it makes more sense to play it safe instead of risking a slot on a Megan's law database just so some 16 year old can ask about their nocturnal emissions or whatever.
