18. I think it's more fun
to see it bounce off the Monster, about 30 feet up — either with a coupla homies on base or with somebody like Yaz playing the carom and the hitter thinking double.

Baseball's little dramas. :D

19. Have you seen Ken Burns' "Baseball" documentary?

Total must-see for any baseball lover! It's 9 "innings," and goes through the history of the game. I think he's working on a tenth "inning" now, and i'm SO excited because it should include 2004! :woohoo:

You just reminded me of it, because i was thinking of getting it for my dad and Yaz was his all-time favorite player. :D

20. About 632 times
:D

Hey, if you have Netflix, they have highlight DVDs of World Series back to... well, way back. A few months ago I watched the Dodgers' championships in '55, '59, '63, '65, '81 and '88. The '65 Series was particularly cool because it was the first one I actually watched. (Funny, though — I remembered Earl Battey smacking his head on the dugout overhang, but the DVD showed it was his neck.)

25. I should've known!

I'd like to see it again... so much incredible footage/photos from back in the day.

Sometimes when i'm feeling blue i pop in "Faith Rewarded: the historic season of the 2004 Boston Red Sox" :7

2. You will appreciate this I think
Every day the news radio station counts down the days till Super Tuesday, the days till the Chesapeake primary (when my locality of Maryland, Va and DC vote) and the days till the Nats pitchers and catchers report...
Gotta keep the important stuff in perspective here in DC metro....

6. The O's, right?
Edited on Sat Feb-02-08 05:49 PM by turtlensue
Does Peter Angelos still own the O's? Its gonna be close. I would say bottom dwellers both teams...Did you hear about the Nats big pickup Paul LoDuca? Not only was he in the Mitchell report but he has a serious injury now and will be out for awhile..

On edit: at least we will have a shiny new ballpark. I can't wait to see a game there!:bounce:
(Peter Angelos is the Dan Snyder of baseball)

7. Actually, No. The owners (all three) have managed (i use that word very lightly)
make Peter Angelos look like a very astute person who is very good with player personnel decisions.

Even Mark Cuban is not really interested in them. It's NOT the Chicago Cubs either.

14. You're getting closer, but no.
You are on the right track (even growing up in Ohio, I couldn't root for the local pro teams).

Think about a team that beat the O's twice in the World Series and in Game 7 no less!!

It may be a bit before your time though!

:hi:
