Tonight, I played Chess... |
|
as I do frequently around here, and beat someone I have never beat before.
I am very proud of myself.
Who else plays chess here?

I have never played a serious game of chess online, I prefer playing a person across the table.

3. I'ts been a LONG time since I've played |
|
At one time I was a dinkum fair player- I once beat my BIL who fancied himself a master, and that was good enough for me.

I feel good because this game was not close, it was a blowout.
I dominated.

Playing chess online would be blasphemy for me. Dad taught me, beginning at the age of 5.

10. I taught my dad when I was eight |
|
Needed someone to play with. :) When I left for college he tried to teach my mom but she said that it just gave her a headache.
Used to play my uncle until I finally beat him when I was 12. He never played me after that. :(
Had friends I played with in JHS and HS and then just kind of got away from it. Met an Egyptian in Saudi Arabia who got me interested again. When he came here on a work visa we would play often.
It's hard to find players. I guess I could try playing online but that would take away from poker.

but then I started playing against people who actually studied it and knew what they were doing and it wasn't as fun anymore. :P
I preferred playing against drunk college kids. I'd blitzkrieg 'em and then show them how to block a blitzkrieg so they wouldn't fall for it again... then play a regular game. Then by that time they'd forgotten how to block the blitzkrieg, so I'd beat 'em a third time.

12. Me; play Big Bang Chess on my Imac |
|
Plays pretty tough. My one gripe is that if I promote a pawn on the 8th rank to a queen, the program just locks up even if I'm in a losing position.
