I do remember my deceased ex-husband's Social Security number. We married in 1963, divorced in 1972. Why that particular sequence of numbers is still in my brain, I'll never know.

Oh, I got it. It must be in the place where my current Oregon driver's license number and car plate number should be.

Some days I cant remember my own phone number much less anybody elses. Ive never even attempted to learn my Texas drivers license (but I did know my Florida license number that I had for 21 years).

I have good days and bad days when it comes to remembering numerical sequences of any kind, but I never falter when even on a bad day I say "but I can remember my ex husbands social security number", and I always do.

We divorced in 1985.

56. Boy, I never before had this ugly thought, but...in terms of "identity theft"...

My second husband's widow, who is my kids' "wicked stepmother" (she is really a great lady, very talented and loving) is probably receiving my ex-husband's larger social security payments now. I surmise that because they were married for more than twenty years, and while she worked, she must be getting more than she would on her own account.

But, I could come out of the woodwork and claim he never divorced me in the Jewish faith! The Orthodox Jews might make the claim that he IS STILL MARRIED TO ME AND I AM TO HIM! I have a "ghet" that nullified my brief marriage to my first husband. The truth is, officially, in Israel, at the time of his death our marriage was still intact. If you are not familiar with the Jewish divorce procedure called a "ghet," look it up.

But what about MY REMARRIAGE? Oh, dear. I think this is Jewish bigamy... :sarcasm:

I think it's believed that each digit appears roughly with a frequency of 1/10, but still remains unproven. That doesn't happen with all irrational numbers--some irrational numbers (like Liouville's Constant) consist only of ones and zeros.
