Super Bowl Sunday is the best day of the year to fly

Two years ago I flew from LA to Chicago during the big game. The plan was half-empty, I was able to stretch out and relax, and we got regular game updates from the cockpit. It was awesome.

1. It's also the best day to drive

Until it's over, when all the angry and/or jubilant drunks hit the road.

Just got back from the Columbia Gorge; we were one of very few cars on the road. Snowy and beautiful.

2. I get the feeling that

quite a few are flying pretty high already, and won't even remember the game. I wouldn't want to be around when they crash.
