BOO-FUCKING-HOO-HOO-HOO PATRIOT FANS
I hate the Giants but if I had to hear about that fucking 19-0 perfect season one more time I was gonna puke my guts.

Thank you Giants for shoving it back in their faces!!

It's bad enough that Montana has to share the 4 Super Bowls distinction with Terry Bradshaw.

And this is the only post I'm going to make about the Super Bowl tonight because I'm disappointed and I don't feel like dealing with the 10 year old bullies screaming "HA HA, YOUR TEAM LOST! YOUR TEAM SUCKS! HA HA!"

Some of the Patriots-hating comments here make NO sense - like calling Brady a "whiny crybaby." WTF? Where has Brady ever complained about not being given enough credit or whatever? I have never read or seen anything to that effect. Haters suck - whether they hate the Cowboys, Patriots, Yankees, or some other team that it's "kewl" to fling shit at.

Blurb on the news said last week that there was already a magazine made out (that had "19-0" on the cover) in anticipation of Pats winning...said that it was done so it could be on stands tonight/tomorrow morning. Maybe the Giants can use it as confetti at their parade.

48. Three things I don't like...
Sports Related Edition:

Dynastic teams.
Sports media "creating" history before it happens.
The "why bother showing up, it's a done deal" attitude.

Patriots got all three. I remember when they were practically retiring the whole season this past spring.

So you can imagine how much smirking I was doing when the whole of "Patriot Machine" walked down the tunnel with deer-in-headlights looks on their faces.

49. well, the Patriots FANS didn't cheat, but here we have a thread that
essentially revels in seeing the FANS being upset that the perfect season didn't happen.

I'll tell you what, I could say a lot of things about the OP, but I'm going to be the bigger person here. My momma taught me that if you can't say anything nice, say nothing at all.

To the Giants and their fans, I say congratulations. It was a terrific game and I'm very happy for you all.

Millie, first you know I adore you and second this thread was posted about 2 seconds after the SB was finished. I figured it would die out along with all the other threads.

And finally, welcome to my world. How do you think I felt 4 years ago when the Eagles lost the SB or for that matter everytime the Eagles have a crappy game. It is what it is. I'll play the wounded bird for a bit in the thread but ultimately I realize that it's all just fun and games and try not to take it all to personally.

they were out-played.

And it is just a game.

That's why I wonder why people have to get so nasty about it. Lynne, if your team had won I would have said, "way to go Eagles." Just like I just did to the Giants in sniffa's thread.

I think a lot of you too, Lynne. That's why your thread bothered me so much. If you had congratulated the Giants and reveled in their victory, I wouldn't have batted an eyelash.

52. Well first off, I wasn't the only one
it is what it is. It's a game - we all had fund and some of us enjoy a few moments of smack talk, which is all part of the game. I mean clearly this must be the first football related thread of mine you ever read because this isn't the first time I've posted 'smack talk' about sports. Had I posted anything else I think some folks would have suspected aliens had kidnapped me.

I take back nothing I've said nor is there any regret. I spent an entire season hearing about this 'perfect season' that I felt the game yesterday was karmic retribution. Take it for what it is.

57. this thread didn't attack brady
it attacked Pats fans.

I really don't care how she feels about Brady.

I really don't mind that she wanted the Giants to win.

It's kind of hard not to "take it personal" when it's clearly a personal attack. It's not a thread about the game, how it was played, or how happy she is that the Giants fans have something to celebrate.

It's "take that you Pats fans!"

And yes, she and I have discussed Pats fans before. Somewhere she seemed to think that we all thought we hadn't won anything in a while. I can't remember the last time I heard a Pats fan say that we deserved to win because we hadn't won in such a long time.

Really? What part was "pure bullshit"? The ex-girlfriend, Bridget, found herself pregnant with his baby. If I recall correctly, there was a window in which Gisele Bundchen, the NEXT girlfriend, also thought she was pregnant by him as well. The ex-girlfriend had his baby, and she was history even throughout her pregnancy, was she not?

What part of "Brady is a punk who knocks up a woman and then ditches her" is not true? You might also have wanted to watch last night's pre-game interview between Brady and Terry Bradshaw, during which (if I recall correctly,) he didn't have a lot to say about said baby.

Thanks,
Julie

64. She wanted to get married
and he didn't. And then, after 3 years of effective birth control, she gets pregnant. Coincidence?? We will never know, but it sure looks suspicious to me.

The rumor of Gisele being pregnant was started by a Brazilian newspaper who thought that "Tom Brady's girlfriend is pregnant" meant "Gisele is pregnant." Another wonderful story from the ever-vigilant press. :eyes:

Bradshaw's question was out of line, considering the circumstances. Tom thought that Bradshaw would ask questions about the game, and then he gets this bullshit. Tom supports the baby and sees him whenever he can.

66. And he's completely blameless? Dear God.
I must be very old-fashioned. It seems to me that if one makes a baby, one might want to stick around to parent that baby. Gosh, how terrible -- she wanted to get married. If he was a big enough boy to impregnate her, he was a big enough boy to say "I do", or use effective birth control.

Tom "supports the baby and sees him whenever he can"? I don't buy the "sees him whenever he can". He's a parent, or he's not. It sure as hell sounded during last night's interview that he's not all that invested in it.

Julie
