Now we can get on with what's important

Katie Casey was baseball mad
Had the fever and had it bad
Just to root for the home town crew
Ev'ry sou
Katie blew
On a Saturday her young beau
Called to see if she'd like to go
To see a show, but Miss Kate said "No,
I'll tell you what you can do"

Take me out to the ball game
Take me out with the crowd
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack,
I don't care if I never get back
Let me root, root, root for the home team
If they don't win, it's a shame
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out
At the old ball game

4. I do workshops once a month next door to Yankee Stadium.
Specifically, right across the street from where they are building the new Yankee Stadium, which is right next to old Yankee Stadium.

As I was walking back to the subway on Wednesday, old Yankee stadium had on its marquee, "15 days until pitchers and catchers". It took a lot to contain my excitement (not for the Yankees, though).

I look forward to seeing a game at SafeCo Field some day. It would have been cool if the stadium sort of faced the opposite direction with Mount Rainier as the view, but I've always liked the Seattle skyline.

Oooo, post one of those cool shots from the press conference when they sign the latest guy who's gonna turn the franchise around — y'know, the one where they stick a cap that doesn't fit on his head and make him put on a jersey over his suit.

Those are so debonair.

Stupid baseball. Used to be, you traded for a guy, he got on a plane right freakin' now, landed, caught a cab to the ball yard, signed, got his unie and was workin' out that afternoon.

Seriously. In the late '30s, I think, there was a trade between the Cubs and somebody between games of a doubleheader. The players involved walked across the diamond, went into the other clubhouse and suited up.

45. When the Giants come to town
it's "Bye-Bye Baby"
Every time the chips are down, it's "Bye-Bye Baby"
History's in the making at Candlestick Park
Cheer for the batter, and light the spark

If you're a fan of Giants baseball, sing "Bye-Bye Baby"
If you want to be in first place, call "Bye-Bye Baby"
Listen to the broadcast on KSFO
Turn up the volume, and hear 'em go

With the San Francisco Giants, it's "Bye-Bye Baby"
