My Dad is dying. I am so, so sad.
My Dad is dying. He was diagnosed with Septic Shock approximately 36 hours ago. His kidneys have failed and the Dr. has told my sister that he could pass away in an hour or in a week.

I am 2500 miles away and trying not to go insane. My father, my Daddy, is the most wonderful parent anyone could have. If it weren't for him, I don't know what would have happened to me during the horrid years with my bio-mother. He saved my sanity and he saved my life.

I wish this was a nightmare and I could wake up. I've never cried so many tears in my life.

My Dad:

23. My deepest sympathies
It indeed shakes up your world with a good "Dad" (and I assume it's the same for any good parent) dies. My Dad died in 2004 and although I happened to be living much closer than you are to your Dad right now I was still unable to be there at the moment of his death. And that makes it all the harder to face.

But it sounds as though your Dad has touched your life in such a positive way that although he is dying and will no longer be a dynamic presence in your life he will live on in you and in others you touch others in your own life in the way he touched yours. And if he was so positive in your life I'm sure he touched others in similar ways and he will live on in them too.

Again, my deepest sympathies and best wishes for you and the others who loved and were close to your Dad and of course to him, I hope he knows how much he was loved and therefore how successful he lived his life.

25. Even when you know that it is coming, it`s never easy.
It feels like it will rip you apart. It`s been 20 years for me, still miss him, but my heart keeps him "alive". Wishing you peace (it will come). Hugs to you and your family.

27. One thing that really bothered me when my dad was dying
was looking outside at the cars going by. My heart ached so bad, I thought "how can you go on with your little lives?? My DAD is dying". I had a lot of "issues" with my dad, but the pain was overwhelming. Peace to you.

Safe passage on your way.

Safe Passage on your way, brother.

32. May he pass on easy, without pain and without worry...
Edited on Mon Feb-04-08 12:40 PM by Javaman
And for you, may peace come quickly to your mind and may your grief pass swiftly...

My dad passed away 7 1/2 years ago.

I think of him every single day in one way or another, but I know that he is with my inside.

Not a day goes by with me hearing his instructive words regarding life and how to live it to the fullest.

The living testament of love to your dad, is being the kind of person he would want you to be.

37. I'm so sorry.
It's tough to lose a parent, no matter how old you are when it happens.

I wish there were something I could say that would make you feel better, but there isn't.

All I can do is offer a long-distance hug.

40. My Daddy died about an hour ago.
To all of you who gave your good wishes, thoughts, prayers and hugs, I thank you very much.

I have posted another thread about Daddy. He was a good man and I truly don't think he had an enemy in his life. Everyone liked him.
