I just got home from work. One of my parties tonight included that of a 10 y.o. boy and his 7 y.o. sister. They ran my ass off. They (and their parents) seriously trashed the table. Sugar packets dumped out on the table, ketchup, crayons, food, ice cream...everywhere. The icing on the cake though was under the table. Not only was there a ton of food under there, the boy decided he didn't want to wear his nasty old mis-matched gym socks anymore and left them under the table for me. x( :puke: Gray, old nasty mis-matched gym socks. I used gloves before I would even touch them. 10 bucks on a 70 dollar check.

I tried waiting tables once and FAILED so bad I had to change to being the hostess.

Seriously, any parent who won't make an effort to clean up after a kids' party is pretty despicable.

Yeah, the staff gets paid to do the cleanup, but only to a REASONABLE extent. Christ, it annoys me when people don't understand that simple concept.

You have my sympathy. People should NOT act like that; waitstaff in most places are woefully underpaid, and worse, under-respected.
