Dumbest credit card robocall ever.
I just answered the phone and got this recording: "We are calling about your current credit card balances. There is no problem at this time with your account, but it is URGENT that you talk with us now about lowering your interest rates. You qualify for an interest rate for as low as 6.9%, but this rate will not be offered for long so PLEASE CONSIDER THIS TO BE YOUR FINAL NOTICE. Please press 1 to speak with a live agent (as opposed to a dead one, I guess). Please press 2 to RECEIVE NO FURTHER NOTICES!"

--------------------------------

Now, why in the hell would I have to press 2 to receive no further notices if that was my last notice? BTW, that's about the 4th time I've pressed 2 for that same damned call.

Next time, I'm pressing 1, and telling the live agent that they made a mistake by allowing their number to be shown on my caller ID, and that since I'm on the "no-call list" they had better make damned sure that this is my FINAL final notice.

1. I get that call often
I always hang up, they never say the company name, just tell me to call back X number with your credit card accounts ready. I'm guessing it's some kind of scam.

4. Think they'll leave a message on the answering machine
with a callback number?

Good advice.

6. Don't push anything
Let the machine take it, then erase the message. Any response at all is like throwing chum into shark-infested waters.
