My mom just bought me these boots and I have a question

They are tight (real tight) around my calves - can I stretch them? Or should I just send them back?

1. I think it would depend on the material.
If they are real leather on the calf part, I believe they can be stretched. Otherwise, return them.

Good luck!

PS - those are some smokin boots :wow:

2. The are all leather w/some stretchy stuff up at the top (where they fit fine dammit)
These are Nine-West 'Gallivant' (w/a 4 inch heel) - she also bought me some Ralph Lauren 'Tara' w/a two-inch heel that have the same problem. I'm supposed to keep one pair and send the other back. But I love both so I'll probably just send her a check. Just didn't know if I should try to stretch them or if it's a waste of my time. (I've wanted knee-high boots FOREVER but have bull-dog legs x( I'm 5'2").

Do I just take them to a cobbler? Or can I do it myself w/leather stretcher?

(Oh, the shoe part of the boot fits like a glove...and they look WAY good on!)

3. I would take them to a cobbler and ask his/her opinion
to be sure...

They are really nice.

6. I know, right?!
That's my dillema - if they were 'meh' I'd send em back and say 'thanks, but my calves are too big' but they are so cool that I really want to keep them. Ugh.

I'll call around today. Thanks.

5. I think JCrew for a while was making boots for
women with larger calves; if you have a JCrew near you go try a pair on for comparison.

And the other advice is very good, too -- go to a cobbler and get some professional input!

Cute boots, btw.

7. No JCrew nearby - sadly
Yep, cobbler it is. Let's hope!

Thanks, I have 1/2 a dozen calf-length skirts that have been un-wearable this winter b/c of no boots that can fit. :grr:
