3. the neti pot is good advice
a short term solution: hot peppers in your food, and some tiger balm on your upper lip.

Hey, I didn't say it would be pleasant!

4. Anything is more pleasant than this
I've had the Cold From Hell for weeks. I'm finally starting to feel mostly better but everything seems to have congregated in my sinuses.

Naturally on a day I have a midterm (that I should be studying for).

I may have to look into the neti pot. In the meantime, the tiger balm is a good idea. :hi:

7. I discovered that in an "emergency"
I had a gig and a last second cold and needed to at least clear my sinuses a little to sing. It does work somewhat - Vic's probably would as well.

5. Neti pot. It's unpleasant but it does work.
It reaches places saline sprays and decongestants can't seem to reach.

10. Another vote for neti pot
Here's the place I bought mine from:

http://www.healthandyoga.com/html/product/neti.html

You can buy salt packets there to get the feel for the right amount, or use just under a teaspoon of a finely-ground sea salt should work about the same

The oil I get for it is Varcho Veda, zinc-free Neti Wash Plus:
http://www.iherb.com/productdetails.aspx?c=1&pid=5999&utm_source=sz&utm_medium=c

Use the hottest water you can stand, 2-3 times per day, while you're sick.

Hope you feel better soon....

11. Neti Pot, available as Sinucleanse at Walgreens CVS, etc. Also highly recommend
mucinex to break that junk up so you can flush it out.

17. I was just going to say the same thing.
A cordless drill just doesn't have the torque of the kind you plug in.

18. Got that Hydraulic Cement packed up in those sinuses, do you?
Ouch. I know that feeling. The only solution I know is to go to the drugstore, confess to Vaterland Security that you have a clogged nose so you can buy some Sudafed, and swallow four or six of those little red boogers.

Then you might feel better.

19. I used to have sinus problems. I relieved mine by going,,,
...into the shower...let the hot water hit on the back of my neck (as hot as you can take it)
In about 15 minutes a flood mucus and NASTY shit starts pouring out of your head.

It's gross but feels SO good...

22. omg
I know how you feel. The sinus infection I had eight weeks ago, literally shut my eye. I was so swollen, it shut my eye.

Take the great advice from ppl here. Then, rememeber, this is going to go away. I had to keep telling myself that to stay sane.

Please.. no drills.

Awwwww:hug:

25. I feel your pain
I've been mucus filled, for the last week. It's been awful painful.
I hope you feel better...and no you won't need a drill

A cheap remedy
Can of chicken with rice soup
Add
1/4 tsp red pepper (or as hot as you can stand it)
a chopped clove of garlic
A teaspoon of parsley flakes
1/4 tsp ginger

It's aromatic, soothing and helps loosen up the sinuses.
I am having some for lunch tomorrow.
