I went and voted in the primary like a good little citizen! Not going to say who I voted for cause I don't want to get into all of that. This is a separate story about something that ticked me off and bothered me a bit at the polls.
They were giving out R squares and D sqares to signal witch party the machine should be set for at my voting place.
The registration lady for my district was messing up and giving Republican squares to people who said they were there to vote in the Democratic primary.
She did it to the guy ahead of me and the lady working the voting machine asked the man, "you are a Republican right?" And he said, "no I am a Democrat." Then the lady running the machine replied "well I haven't voted yet and I am a Republican so I will just vote, and then I will reset the machine so you can vote Democrat."
Then when I was registering, the resgistrar, almost did the same thing to me. She asks "you said you were a Republican right?" I said, "no I told you I am a Democrat." Then she did give me the D square.
My Mom asked me if I thought they were just mixed up because they were overwhelmed with so many people, as my district line, was the longest, or they were trying to pull something?
I don't know. I can't see what they could be trying to mess up in the primary.
What's your guess?

1. Are your local poll workers in their 70s and 80s like mine? |
|
Mine are, and they are always confused.

3. that's officially shady |

Maybe there was nothing to it but making such a simple mistake more that once over something this important.. that's shady.
I'd maybe tell someone, just send this same info you wrote here to someone in charge. Whether they care or not at least you told something what was happening. Those people helping us vote should not make mistakes like that.
