I am in Ohio and have been a vegetarian for years - a lot of places now offer veggie subs.

4. well, I will say that I've been to places in the south that look at me like I am speaking french

if I order something without meat. One lady at a sub shop in Alabama even offered to put a little on there for no extra charge. I thanked her, and told her I was allergic just to make it easier.
