Are there two major airports in Houston, or did one just change its name?
Is the George Bush international airport the same as Houston-IAH?

A friend and I are trying to buy tickets and the flights I found on-line are all to George Bush, but all he can find are to IAH (we're flying from different locations). Just wondering if the different search engines have different names for the same airport, or if indeed there are two airports.

Thanks.

2. It used to be Houston Intercontinental and Houston Hobby
I don't know if Hobby still exists, but Intercontinental has become IAH, and G. H. W. Bush Airport. Last time I was there, they had erected an abominable statue to honor the Iran-Contra co-conspirator. Disgusting.

Bush was once called Intercontinental Airport Houston. So IAH is Bush.

The other major airport is Hobby. Which is HOU I believe.

4. IAH was the code for Intercontinental, which was later renamed Bush,
but the code is still IAH. The code for Hobby is HOU. I have refused to call it "Bush" since the name change. It will be always be Intercontinental to me! Honestly, most area residents still call it Intercontinental anyway. Technically, it is called George Bush Intercontinental, so I see no need to ever change what I call it.

5. I don't care who it is, wait till they are DEAD!
This (primarily GOP) phenomena of Hero Worship (of living people) is Stalineque.

No naming until after someone is dead 25 years!

...left from Intercontinental on Monday, returned to George Bush Intercontinental on Thursday.

A true :wtf: moment. No debate. No notice. No nothing. Purely by decree.

6. thanks everybody!
Sometimes getting info from a local is a lot better than Google. I think it is just disgusting that they named the airport after him. But isn't there a Ronald Reagan aiport somewhere too?
