I was worried that my kitty was diabetic, because she was drinking so much water. I took her to the vet for blood tests today.
The vet thought at first that Claudia might be hyperthyroid, because she is on the thin side. She only weighs 5.8 pounds. Last year, she weighed about a pound more. She has never been a big eater, and she is a small cat. She is between eleven and twelve years old.
All her blood work came back fine. There is no diabetes, thyroid problem, or liver problem. Her teeth and eyes are fine, and she has no masses.
Next week, I am taking her in for a urine test. They will make sure her kidney function is okay. But things are looking good!
Maybe she has just been thirsty lately.
Thanks everyone, for sharing your kitty stories with me.
