Calexico has always been one of my favorites since their days w/ Giant Sand and backing Richard Buckner on his "Devotion + Doubt" record; have you heard Willam Fitzsimmons? He has the same kind of Iron And Wine vibe:

3. So is The Shepherd's Dog by Iron and Wine

I never liked Iron and Wine until I heard the album with Calexico. That made me give his new one a chance and holy crap do I love that record. Full band backing really fleshes out his song and his voice in a big way. It did it on the Calexico album and it does it on the Shepherd's Dog.
