Poll question: Fellow Book Lovers
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 03:29 PM by Liberalynn
When you are finding a book slow to interest what is your usual method of dealing with it?

Just curious as to what others do?

I have done all of the choices I am going to list, but favor skimming through it and getting to the end fast.

2. I've done that a lot too.
Then I will usually just toss it in the donation pile.

3. I put it down and come back to it later.
That's one reason my apartment looks like a used book store.

7. At least I'm organized enough to have prioritized my stacks.
I've got the "these books are definitely next stack", the "I will read these at some point stack", the "want to reread these sometime", and the "just can't bear to divest myself of these books stack".

5. It depends mostly on the author
Some authors I'll keep plowing through in spite of a slow start because I know they'll pick it up eventually.

Others I won't bother with if the beginning is torture. I just move on to the next one.

6. Keep reading
if it picks up .. cool. If not, I put it aside and won't finish it. But that isn't happening very often.

8. I haven't started many books that I didn't like
but I prefer skimming to the end and then just getting rid of it. I have so many books piled up waiting to be read that I won't waste much time with a book that isn't very good.
