I rarely put people on ignore but when I do it's in a mass grouping. Often it's because of an especially nasty flamewar when someone's true nastiness comes out.

I'm very much a civil, "agree to disagree" kind of person. My problem is when I've conceded and the other person then begins to take pot shots at me as a person (questions my intelligence, questions how liberal I really am, etc.). When I was young I would have gladly have argued with the person 'til the cows came home. Now I'm just tired and I've found ignore to be my friend.

Differing views I can handle-jackasses I cannot.
