huge complex of condos and retail shops replaced them. It's sad. I lived a few blocks from there for 10 years...

a long time ago, a few blocks south in the '50s and a few blocks north in the 60s just north of Fishinger. Lived in a few other places nearby as well. When I was a little kid, Kingsdale was a big field with a farm house in the middle.

UA is landlocked and is desperate to find a source for new tax revenue. It's sad that they took out most of the affordable rental property to do it.

Medical facilities for tests. Don't have any relations in UA any longer so don't get to that part of town much. The last time I drive on Tremont was several years ago, at least 5 or 6, and it looked about the same as I recall, duplexes and houses on that side of the street.

Lazarus stores were bought out by Macy's. City Center is completely dead. You wouldn't know the city any more. Too much change. :(

88. One of the reasons for meeting VenusRising and SallyMander

was to get our minds off Lelapin's roommate who tried to take her life last week. It was a time to talk about it but also to joke and laugh about other things.

Her roommate will be released tomorrow. I went to see her Friday night. I hope I never have to see the inside of a psych ward ever again. :(

Played at two services this morning and took a nap this afternoon. It's bitterly cold here and it seemed like the right thing to do. ;)

Lelapin must have been in need of some good people around her. I don't think you get close to despair like that and bring yourself back to normal if you don't have some support and reassurance. I hope her roommate gets the help she needs, too.

My weekend was very good. I gave myself permission to really relax for the first time in a long time, and it paid off, I think. Saturday afternoon's coffee shop visit turned into a great discussion for about 90 minutes, and then a friend walked with me to the grocery store and back, so I really got to talk, listen, and laugh for a while.
