Yes, we sell a full range of professional theatrical makeup. I'm in the process of getting that stuff up on the website right now, so the site won't be much help.

Creme and water based foundations, stage blood in liquid, gel, fresh scab, and thick varieties, brushes, tools, adhesives, removers, latex appliances, blush, character shadows and colours, powder, eyeshadow, etc.
Seriously, everything.
Most of it's Ben Nye, though we carry a little Graftobian and Kryolan.

Good to know about the makeup. I have to do the odd makeup thing in projects here and there. Oh, who am I kidding - it's for me. There are days you wake up and only generous amounts of liquid latex and mortician's wax can soften the ravages of time; and failing that, a little fake blood goes a long way as a distraction.

I find it weird that the Ellice LC has a better selection of wine and single malt scotch than some of the others. Call me biased, but really...

Or, if I'm there, I've taken theatrical and special effects makeup courses, so I know wtf I'm talking about too. But not everyone does, if you catch my slightly diplomatic drift.

I bought some stuff at a store on Wall St. store a while back. Is that like a branch office, or a totally different store? I can't remember for some reason. Anyway, I used most of it (and some tic-tacs) in crafting this highly-polished, completely professional effect:

We carry proper *professional* theatrical makeup, a huge range, with knowledgeable staff and a store free of vermin.

Sorry, do I sound bitter and/or mean? Thank christ they've finally moved out of the costume and makeup business. Though, it's telling they sold all their stuff to *RAGPICKERS*. They give the business a bad name. Heaps of shit all over the floor, crawling with bugs, smelly, uncleaned, ripped and torn, hidden behind a curtain. Ick.

I say this from personal experience. So, it's biased, but I've seen it.

You should come visit us. We have over 25 thousand rental costumes. The costume dept is open by appointment only most of the year, but our costumes are amazing. http://www.harlequincostume.com has some of our theatrical productions up.

A lot of it is period and historical, so you might not think of it for the stuff you do, but we get people renting stuff all the time for non-period events, films, etc. There's so much wacky, interesting and neato stuff that it can be put to use for just bout anything.

I know, I'm like a pimp. But, for people who do film, I think we're a great resource. Wigs, hats, make up, costumes, whatever. None of our costumes are for sale, they're our children and we guard them. But like a pimp, you can have them for one night ;)

Anyway, think about it. Check us out. If nothing else, it's a pretty neat store. i know I'm biased as a life long employee and child of the store owners, but that doesn't make it untrue.

Plus, we actually hang our costumes up! On hangers and racks and everything! And clean them, each and every time they get worn! And alter them to fit people! And repair them if they get damaged! :D
