Snow fails to lure Oman residents outdoors

Muscat: The recent snowfalls in the mountains of Oman have not proved to be much of an attraction, with few residents venturing out to Jebel Akdhar (Green Mountain) in the north-eastern region of the country.

"It was a sunny day but deep inside the mountains a little snow was left and we enjoyed the spectacle for the first time in Oman," Indian expatriate Ranjana Sharma told Gulf News.

She said that at night the temperature fell as low as
-6 degrees Celsius... http://gulfnews.com/news/gulf/oman/10188441.html

On a personal note, it has been the 40's here every single night here in the UAE over the past week. People here (myself included) have no anti-freeze in our blood because of the extreme heat. So, we are freezing!

6. Not a 'born' thing- I have lived in Extra Hot and Extra Cold climates... your body
changes chemistry to accommodate either extreme. In extreme cold, the body craves extra protein. In extreme heat, the body craves extra fluids and sugar.

3. weird weather - they had big snows in tropical/subtropical areas of China
not too long ago as well. Look at Guangzhou/Canton on the map and it's about on the same line as Havana, Cuba.

4. And Iguanas drop out of trees in Florida
Weird weather all around this year, but enough with the giant lizards! When is it really going to start raining men?

5. -10 degrees in MN right now. The weather's a freakin' tease.

If you are the summer rose, I'll be the gentle rain shower with minty fresh scent.
