Poll question: I will have to hold my nose to vote if our candidate is
Edited on Sun Feb-10-08 09:38 AM by bertha katzenengel
I swear to got, I don't want a flamewar. Please! This is intended to find those who feel strongly that one or the other is not our best choice, but who will not vote for the Republican candidate.

No flaming. Please. I beg of you.

I will have to hold my nose to vote if our candidate is

1. I don't like either of them.
I am very thankful that I don't have to make a choice between that awful pair.

3. I support Hillary.
But I'll vote and support Barack Obama if he's the nominee. Obama isn't as attuned to GLBT issues as I think Hillary is. But I'll still support him.

I don't know about the my holding my nose business. Taken together, this is a pretty damn strong couple of candidates we have. I mean, look at the other side...

19. The same.
Work is stressing me out. Luckily, the kid and the fella are behaving themselves.

I'm taking guitar. It's nice to have a class that doesn't stress me out for once.

12. I think I'll vote strategically this year.
If either McCain or Obama/Clinton is far ahead in this state, I will vote for someone else. Chances are Texas will go Republican anyway so I can vote my conscious and not vote for either of those two corporate weasels.

In the primary (if I bother to vote- which I may not) I will choose Edwards, even if he is officially not running. I want to send a message.

20. I'll vote for either without holding my nose.
Not that they were my first or even second choices, but because neither of them will appoint Supreme Court judges like Scalia, Thomas, Roberts or Alito. I'm not about to throw my own civil liberties, health or safety under the bus by staying home in a fit of righteous pique and not voting because I didn't get the candidate I wanted when the stakes are this high. I don't want a President McCain or a President Huckabee.

21. There are things I don't like about both of them
If I still had to vote in a primary, I'd definitely be holding my nose. I did vote "both" because I'm not happy with either. But when I'm standing in a voting booth in November, I really won't be holding my nose. I'll happily vote for either of them over any Republican.

24. Better either of these than any Republican,
but I still think there could have been better Democrat options, too. I can see strong negatives with both of these. I'm just glad I could still vote for Edwards in the primary. Don't know how I would've chosen between the two remaining.

28. No holding of the nose will be necessary.
I will happily vote for and support either as the nominee. I will do the happy dance and sing "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" on the day that Bush leaves the White House, I so badly want to see the backside of that putz.

No candidate for the presidency of the United States is ever perfectly in tune with all of the issues I would personally like. All things considered, however, it has been such a long time since the Democratic Party had two great candidates to chose from. Either would bring a valuable set of traits with them to the White House, and I will just have to keep campaigning for my personal set of likes and dislikes regardless.

:hi:
