Keith Richards' Advice For "The B***h" Amy Winehouse

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has offered troubled singer Amy Winehouse some free advice on kicking the drug habit.

"She should get her act together," the former junkie said during a round-table interview at the Berlin International Film Festival on Friday to promote Martin Scorsese's Rolling Stones documentary "Shine a Light."

The often-addled rocker paused, then added: "Apart from that, I have got nothing to say to the b****."

Winehouse, 24, entered a London rehab clinic last month in hopes of kicking a destructive habit that has overshadowed her promising career.

I will say this - Keith's right.

And we all know he's said some funky stuff in the past...

Amy's songs are interesting - many offer potential, but many more seem to wallow in misery even I would blush in embarrassment at...

I hope she can overcome it. In Keith's time, drugs were the norm and accepted. He cleaned up his act and has survived to tell the tale... I'd listen to him.

3. Misery is the entire point of the blues isn't it?

I think she's got an amazing voice and I hope she gets cleaned up before she kills herself because I think she's got amazing potential. It is awfully ironic of good old Keefe to make such a comment. I've always rather adored the old geezer but calling her a bitch was really not called for and comes off as extremely misogynistic.

And you're right about the blues. I'm rethinking some of the "previously deemed unsavory lyrics" in a different light... still can't entirely fathom "Addicted" or "I Heard Love Is Blind", however...

4. Well, those who make the mistakes often make the most interesting storytellers.

If someone said "Don't use drugs" had said so out of the blue, I'd probably rebel, thinking there'd be no harm.

If that person had used drugs and told of the hell (s)he had to go through to clean up, would I be more inclined to listen and spare myself future pain? Maybe, maybe not, or salamander pudding for dessert.

Either way, there is an irony.

Either way, I wish I never cracked my knuckles either... :(
