Is the multi-blade razor the biggest scam in history?
I don't get it. If the first blade cuts the whisker, what do the other blades cut?

Is the first blade dull? Do the blades get sharper as they go along?

Your whiskers certainly don't grow fast enough between blades to warrant cutting again. If the razor pulls the whisker (like on TV) out, then that means the first blade, and subsequent ones, are not too sharp.

My Gillette Supercharge Thermonuclear Torpedo Extreme 3000 Deluxe, with it's 34 blades and jackhammer-like vibrating function is the perfect tool. For what, I have no idea, but I'm sure it's perfect for doing something. Grading asphalt, perhaps. I do like the fact that a squadron of fighter jets zooms overhead every time I use it, though. That's a nice touch. I haven't figured out hot to make the hot woman appear in my bathroom to stroke my face, but I'm sure it says somewhere in the manual.

Actually, it's not really the multi-blades that are the scam. I do find a three or four blade razor does a better job than a cheap disposable Bic, and without removing most of the skin from my face. But all the "lubastrips" and "Powerglide" vibrating nonsense is just money for old rope.

4. Yes! 3 times, 5 times, 20 times, yes!!
The 5 blade models alone rip off more skin than anything else...

8. twin blades is best imho any more is overkill
i use the sensor excel
it does a great job and the blades are way cheaper
ive been using the same handle for probably twenty years now
i have a mach 3 too and though the shave is no better it may be more comfy on second thought

i bought a gillette fusion in a moment of weakness
its a horrendously overpriced piece of crap
does a mediocre shave at best and all those stupid little blades get clogged up something awful
they should be ashamed of themselves

9. I use a plain ol' safety razor
Works fine and replacement blades only cost $4 for a ten-pack at my drugstore.

I think the reason multiblade razors are popular (like the five bade Gillette Fusion) is that it's hard to give yourself razor burn because the force is divided amongst all of the blades. You can avoid razor burn by simply using a light touch and not shaving against the grain.

10. Back in the early days of Saturday Night Live, they had a commercial
After the first twin blade razor was introduced, for a three blade razor. The voice-over ended the commercial: "Because you'll believe anything."

that old single-bladed (though two-sided) "safety razor."

Close enough that I can go 2 days without shaving.

18. Does it cut below the skin?
explain to me how this is possible. I am at a disadvantage cu I ahve a baby face, so for me, any blade is just fine. I can go a week or more before anyone notices that I haven't shaved.

20. It does!
It cuts down to the jawbone!

Seriously, it does cut closer than anything else I've tried. A lot of times I only shave every other day. It's smooth too - most other razors give me a rash.

:-(

I think my facial hairs are thick or something. My hair is really black and I'm fairly white, so that doesn't help any either.

26. Me too
I didn't believe their claims at first, but then they started distributing them for free at my dorm one day, so I tried it. That was the last time I shaved with the old two-bladed thing I'd been using since I first started shaving with a blade.

22. I have the fusion, and like it a lot
It's the opposite end of ripping your face to shreds with a bic. Just wash it out regularly, and you'll end up with an amazingly close shave, no redness, and the little blade on the back is nice for cutting lines.
