I loaned him $1200 to get him up there. Not sure what he is doing,he's 20 years old. They work 6 days a week,12 hour shift. He can come out of the bush every 3 weeks for a week off. They are in a camp made up of trailers, that has 500 men,in the middle of nowhere. Nearest town is Fort McMurray. His first week there a young guy got killed at the jobsite. He said he wants to stay there for 2 months and come back with some money. I'm rather nervous for him.

2. Thanks.
Tarsands work is mostly strip mining,so it's all outside above ground. That's about all I know of it.

4. Sounds like something from a Stan Rogers song.
:)

That's good money for a 20-year-old, but sounds like extremely hard work. I hope that he stays safe.
