My school cancelled its semi-formal!
Seriously!

And the reason pisses me off: they needed 15 teachers to be chaperones, and only three volunteered! Even after the student council sent out a frantic letter to all the teachers, none of them stepped up.

I already bought my dress and everything! And I was actually really excited. I've had a totally shitty 3-4 weeks or so and it was the one thing I had to look forward to.

:(

1. Could any parents help out by chaperoning?

2. I think that's a legal issue...
Plus, it's already been cancelled so we're pretty much screwed.

4. Yeah...
I just thought to myself "I hope they get chlamydia...on Valentine's Day."

I'm mean.

5. Wish I'd had the option of not chaperoning dances as a teacher.
I hate to see kids missing out, but fewer obligations for teachers is a good thing, in my biased opinion.

8. I understand your point, but,
My school only has three dances a year: Opening dance, semi, and prom.

Opening dance is usually quite small anyway, and is held in the school.

9. How does one dress for a 'semi' formal?
Just curious.

11. ehh...one step down from formal?
I have this really nice cocktail-ish dress that got for semi, I'm also wearing it to my cousin's wedding in August.

14. Oh, and to add insult to injury....
They're not refunding our money until mid next week.

Excuse me... there is something else I'd like to do that night, and would really appreciate my money back.

Morans.
