1. Could you elaborate? And more importantly... |
|
Are they singing any Kirby Shaw material? :)

2. After everyone was measured, she upped each girl's size. |
|
So the dresses don't fit. They're all too big. And, they perform tonight and the dresses came in yesterday. :eyes:
TeenMidlo's dress is a 3/4 and she wears a 2, so every dress has to be taken in at least 1 inch on each side.
I am not happy.
They're singing, Moondance, something else, Shadowland, Africa and Anyway you want it. The costume change shirt is wrong, too. Too small. We had to cut the lining and the bone out of all of them last night.

13. Just a thought (I could be wrong)... |
|
In a past life I had to order costumes before from costume companies...I'm sure it's no different with choir outfits. Anyways...
Very often, either the catalog or the phone rep will advise you to buy a size larger than the measurements taken, because sometimes certain brands "run small". They tell you that you can always take it in, but it's impossible to make it larger.
So, I myself have erred on the side of "better safe than sorry" and purchased slightly-too-large costumes which then had to be taken in.

16. And I could understand that, but these costumes |
|
are actually the same as last year's, just a different color. So we knew that having had to alter last year's, we should buy them correctly the first time.
Plus, they arrived yesterday and the kids perform tonight. Talk about pressure.

But here I sit in a pile of turqoise glitter cursing the teacher up one side and down the other.

5. I hate alterations. I would rather start from scratch! |
|
I once did bride's maids based solely on their measurements and didn't actually put the dresses on anyone until the rehearsal the night before. Loooooong night of letting out and adjusting. Howzit going? You're probably in the sewing room and not really in the Lounge..........:hi:

And, I can't even do them properly. The proper way to do them would be to take them in at the zipper. No time for that. They perform at 6PM tonight.
