20. Oh yes! "Civilization" rocks!
He also had one called "Colonization" that I haven't seen in years. It was an improvement on real history because it was always a Really Bad Idea to mistreat the natives. You needed their good will to beat the game.

If console to PC ports count, the Silent Hill series tops the list.

23. Same here ...

... and with mods, you can just play it over and over again, and it doesn't get old.

Minsc (and his space hamster) has to be one of the best all-time support characters in any game ever made of that variety.

33. Oh, I hated Anomen ...

You're exposing one of the flaws of the original game ... Playing a female was not nearly as interesting as playing a male. Playing evil wasn't all that fun either.

But as you point out, the modding community corrected that. Relying on modders was by design, actually, so I can forgive to an extent the original problems.

Oh, damn ... I'm having an itch to start another campaign.

Ya know -- and I shouldn't admit this -- I actually got weepy the first time through BG II when my party and I were descending into Hell to face Irenicus. Those speeches they gave were just amazing.

Speaking of Irenicus ... Best. Villian. Ever.

I do more with tools than games these days; I'm not keen to arbitrarily surrender $60 for something like that...

Not even $280 for the xbox with the cool new pacman game. It'll be ported to the PC, with same look and sound, anyway, one day.

34. Toss up between Tie Fighter, Planescape Torment, or Baldur's Gate
The old Tie Fighter back in the day was awesome.....Rebel Scum!

Planescape Torment had incredible story and gameplay. There was nothing like it, it was so dark. Also, attribs had real impact on the game.

The king of disturbing PC games goes to Harvester, however.....(you are wondering why the game is so fucked up and then at the end they reveal it to be training to become a serial killer)

Baldur's Gate was the same but a little less evil. Great games.

Oh i also really liked Knights of the Old Republic.

38. KOTOR ...
I liked that too, quite a bit. I wish more had been done with it. The Sith Lords was rushed to print far too soon, imo, and failed to achieve what it could have with the story. It's tragic when you're playing a game and getting really involved in the storyline and can actually *see* where the developers put in a dialog sequence to make up for a huge blank spot cut out because of marketing.

Just because ...

45. That game was awesome huh?
I dunno, it was cool to actually play a character with high WIS INT CHA and never actually have to fight at all heh. It actually took the attribs into account with the dialog options and what you could do. Baldur's Gate did that to some degree but not to the extent that Planescape did.
