"It's gonna be hella easy to get other cities to name their arenas 'Amway' and we'll become a major distributor and make tons of cash."

3. Yet one more bit of influence by Rich DeVoss in that area. |
|
And yet one more reason why I'm glad I just moved across the country and far away from there.

there can be only one.
Until Amway's bad name starts to catch up with it, then they'll spawn off an internet-based version and call it Quikstar.

9. Yeah, my parents got suckered in. |
|
Until they got so broke that they ended up doing office work for their upline to help pay the bills... and they saw his books.
They discovered that he made a grand total of 3% of his income from Amway. The other 97%? Selling promotional books and tapes on how to 'build the business' to suckers like them.
And he was completely typical of a Diamond level distributor.
So my parents not only left, but my mom decided to write a tell-all book. :)
Another funny thing they discovered when looking at his books: This 'rich' Diamond distributor's net worth was actually less than my parents'. Because he was in debt up to his eyeballs trying to LOOK rich. Can't con people into 'building the business' if they didn't think they could get rich off it. So he had the newest and nicest cars, the biggest house... all mortgaged up to the hilt. His net worth was negative. My parents, although poor because they'd wasted so much time, effort and money trying to 'build the business', at least had a slightly positive net worth.

7. I liked it when it was the O-rena. |
|
That was a cool name. Everything has to have a corporate sponsor, now.
Lambeau Field and Soldier Field seem to be the only stadiums without corporate names.

10. Lambeau didn't sell naming rights to the stadium... |
|
They sold the naming rights to the entry gates. There's one sponsored by the Oneida Nation, One Sponsored by Miller Brewing Company, one sponsored by Verizon, and IIRC, one sponsored by Schneider National, a local trucking firm.
