5. I won't know til next week |
|
I'm having major eye exam on Friday. I haven't been able to see out of my right eye for over a week...floaters and white flashes of light with a lot of pain. Eye doctor said on the phone he thinks it's a detached retina or some shit...I didn't listen after he said the word possible "surgery." Of course, I didn't hear the word "possible" either. Just when we were getting enough cash to move north, this shit happens.

7. My sister was told by an eye doctor that she had a detached retina |

and would need eye surgery. Well, she didn't have insurance either and couldn't get surgery. This was about 8 years ago and her so far her eyes are fine. It just sort of went away by itself.

10. get thee to the Wilmer Eye Clinic at Johns Hopkins... |
|
in Baltimore. They have programs that will help you financially. They are left with endowments for such a scenario. They saved. my. mother's life. LITERALLY. And she had no insurance. Actually, I think she had insurance, but they would not cover it, which is the same as having no insurance.
Try a teaching hospital in your area too.
Take a deep breath and know we're pulling for you.
Let some of us research it for/with you.
And do not be afraid to post about this when it bothers you. Keeping it bottled up will only hurt.

11. God isn't it wonderful we live in such a civilized country? |

:sarcasm:
I hope things work out that you can get the treatment you need. The teaching hospital ideas upthread sound good. Can't go wrong with Johns Hopkins.
