Who's been to Burning Man?

I've looked at pics, and I think it's something I'd like to try to go to... eventually. And bring my own food and water, based on some of the commentary I've read.

I'm just curious if anyone here has been, and if so, would you be willing to share about your experiences? :)

1. I haven't, but my brother has almost every year since it started.

I think if you have access to such a thing, you must go for it. From what I've gleaned from his stories and pictures, it's a truly amazing scene if you're not used to carnivals 24-7.

He says that after the first time he went, he learned that next time he should bring whatever "goodies" to barter with. Once, he & his buddies brought cases of Frappuccino on ice, which was wildly popular. You should bring your own food and water, but I've heard money's pretty useless (but don't listen to me) out in the desert.

Another time, he brought candy and a lot of pairs of really cheap sunglasses. People traded for beer and food items.

Sadly, I won't be going this year because a family event.

Yes, you have bring in your own food and water. You also have bring it all out too. Leave no trace!!!

3. I've Always Wanted To Go

4. My dad and I picked up a hitch-hiker headed there

He drove truck and was usually against hitch-hikers. I sorta talked him into it by convincing him he was tired of hearing me talk :P
