Due to the redactions, I'd recommend anyone reading it go to Linda Rozen's Afterward first.

What was your latest read?

1. I don't want to buy Plame's book
Because I heard the CIA censored her. What's the point of not being able to read the most juicy parts?

2. I checked it out from a public library.
Had to wait awhile. The redactions were much worse than Marchetti and Marks " The CIA and the Cult of Intelligence".

Yep, we've come a long way since then.

3. We've come a long way indeed in The Lounge-one post and a tombstone.
Gee, what a technical marvel.

Goodnight, the reading lamp is on.

4. Obvious zombie was obvious.
I think his last incarnation made it all the way to ten posts. He must be devolving

And in more interesting news, the last book I read was Don't Eat This Book. Not a bad book, but the citations are really sloppy at best, which was frustrating.

5. Housekeeping, by Marilynne Robinson
Beautifully written; I need to reread it to capture the lyricism of her prose. Really beautiful writing. "Considered a modern classic, Robinson's novel enjoys a sustained popularity. The story of Ruth and her sister, Lucille, HOUSEKEEPING speaks eloquently of displacement, loss, and longing."

Next up: a mystery by Anne Perry. Then "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" by Carson McCullers.

I know, I know, but I went about reading all wrong; I read Kafka and Norman O. Brown when I was 111 and 12, and now I'm catching up to what I missed!

7. Reading "F.U.B.A.R.-America's Right Wing Nightmare"
It's pretty good.
Especially the part about "ex-gays" who become "ex-ex-gays".
Funny.
And they explain 'scientifically' why all homophobes are closet gays.

8. "Duma Key" by Stephen King.
His best book in years.
