Which was the better episode of 'All in the Family'?

1. that episode where archie spewed out some racial blasts,

called his wife a dingbat and his son-in-law a meathead...that was definitely the best episode...

for later season (post season 3), they seem to go beyond the usual "typical sitcom" format the show was heading down.

Why not those two episodes?

How about the one where Gloria gives birth (Season 6) vs the one she miscarried (Season 1)?

4. I thought there was some correlation between the two.

One dealt with racism/reverse racism, the other with Mike deciding not to have children in spite of what Gloria might have wanted.

And when I saw the very first episode of AITF, I realized that it was as far away from being a 'typical sitcom' as you could get.

7. None at all. Both episodess are great.

(and it's only later years that devolve the show into "normal sitcom" territory. Archie being accused of cheating, in season 7, was a bit lame... there are a few others that don't follow their topical discussions of old...)
