She's put up with almost as much shit as Yoko Ono and has survived beautifully. She's now 70 - a brassy old broad now. I love it.

I met her last year, very briefly, and she was gorgeous and sweet and funny.

that I don't believe should be said on tv. I find that word highly offensive and it sends shivers down my back to hear it, in any context. yes, it can be used as an insult, but if you keep acting/reacting as if it is, it will continue to harm you. Take the power out of the word. "Nigger" and "faggot" aren't nice words, either, and have been used to degrade and negate for decades if not centuries. But whenever I hear any of those words, I have to admit I think of Eleanor Roosevelt's famous statement, how no one can make you feel inferior without your permission.

No one can really insult you without you responding as if you were actually insulted. Take the word cunt, say it a bunch of times, use it in a few sentences, and the ability of the word to shock and offend goes away.

Words do have power, but only the power you give them.
