If money were no object, how would you decorate your place?
(Inspired by Hell Hath No Fury's Mid-century thread)

I have fallen in love with the Art Deco period...

Don't know if this couch is repro Deco, but I want it anyway...

7. I'd have to have a separate place to decorate... Oktoberain would veto my ideas!
I'd want one whole room that looked like a reproduction of the Giger Bar in Switzerland

15. A mix of Art Deco by Ruhlman and Arts and Crafts movement
Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann did amazing veneer work. His desks and chiffoniers are extraordinary difficult pieces of cabinetry.
If you like Deco check out his work. One of my favorite pieces is on this page #DK109
http://www.ruhlmann.info/rh_desks.php

I built a table based on a British design and have a couple of Stickley pieces would love some Greene and Greene replicas

17. I'm with you: Deco all the way...
...and I've done a pretty good job with that over the last 20 years, looking for bargains and not hoping for the high-end, museum-quality stuff (just saw a Ruhlmann cabinet that sold for about $150,000). Fact is, you can find good-quality original Deco furniture for less than what new stuff costs. I've got versions of all your photos (minus the couch at the end, which isn't Deco), and I paid less than $2000 for the lot of it. Have to do the leg-work, however. Luckily, I enjoy the leg-work!

Oh, by the way, "classicfilmfan": You have great taste.

Where did you find the best "bargains" for your stuff? And thanks for the verification on the couch. I still like it though, and my Baby kitteh would probably like to nap on it! :hi:
