Procol Harum
Good or Great. Chime in.
I saw them at the Hollywood Bowl with the LA Symphony when I was 8 years old. I will reserve comment for now.

3. Great, yup
"Conquistador" is probably the best rock song recorded with a symphony orchestra (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada).

I'll be happy, though, if I never hear "A Whiter Shade of Pale" again. It's one of those songs that got played to death by the "classic rock" stations.

5. One of the best rock bands..
Even though Paler was played to death, I still love it. Rob Trower is one of the overlooked giants of rock.

They are great and most people my age have no clue who they are. The second side of "shine on brightly" is genius

8. Musical oddity
The first Procol Harum album was released while "Whiter Shade Of Pale" was a hit in the states, but the LP did not have that song on it!

The record company (Deram, I believe) scrambled to "insert" it into later U.S. LP's, but on the real first LP the song is nowhere to be found.

"Conquistador" was, but "Pale" wasn't.
